About Megan
Megan works primarily with the ancient wax based medium of encaustic paint, a molten beeswax mixed with resin and pigment. She is drawn to the sheer beauty, the tactile richness and the sensual qualities of encaustic and is continually fascinated by the versatility of this medium that allows her to build up layers and reveal only what she feels is necessary through scraping and sheer manipulation of the surface, all adding to an eventual sense of accumulation and the essence of time.
Megan received her BFA in painting and printmaking from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has studied in Europe, South America and throughout the United States. Her work has been featured in multiple groups and juried exhibitions across New England as well as New York and Chicago. Her work is in private and public collections.
